ASTS Incorporated (ASTS) provides program management services, engineering,
architectural and environmental support services for the U.S. Army Space
& Missile Defense Command (SMDC) under a world-wide, multi-year contract,
with significant work currently at Fort Greely, Alaska - in addition to
other locations in the Pacific.
Under this contract, ASTS has completed a massive reconstruction of all
three runways at Allen Army Airfield at Fort Greely, including an upgrade
of the primary runway to C5A and B747 standards to handle planned traffic
in support of missile defense operations. In addition to taxiway, road,
and apron improvements, navigation and lighting improvements have also been
completed. Proceeding under a very tight timeframe, the first
runway was completed ahead of schedule, with congratulations and compliments
from the military for a job well done.
